EUR/GBP Analysis Forecast, May 15, 2015 – Forecast

Analysis and Recommendations (EUR/GBP Forecast):

The EUR/GBP added 28 points with both currencies trading in the green but the euro outshined the GBP. The GBP continues to gain on positive data while the eurozone is stronger with a surprise in GDP and the Greek situation on the back burner. 0.7238. The British pound is moving higher as employment continues to grow, leading to increasing wages, and rising consumer sentiment, which could push lending rates up over the coming year. Economic activity in the U.K. looks to continue to expand as households strengthen. Both employment and wage gains are fueling sentiment measures, which is translating into increased retail spending. While there remains pockets of weakness in the economy, policymakers will look to raise lending rates in coming months as household optimism grows, leading to gains in its currency.

The euro held steady Thursday on the back of an improving eurozone economy. Despite upbeat European growth, however, debt-saddled Greece confirmed that its economy had slipped back into recession, with no end in sight to tense bailout reform talks with its international creditors.
