NZD/USD Analysis Forecast, June 05, 2015 – Forecast

nzdusd thursday bnsnlaAnalysis and Recommendation:

The NZD/USD dipped 15 points to trade at 0.7138 as the greenback bumped up in the morning session.  The kiwi touched a four-month low against the euro after the European Central Bank lifted its inflation forecast, and on optimism Greece will reach agreement with its creditors.

The euro strengthened after the ECB president Mario Draghi yesterday kept policy unchanged but stepped up the bank’s inflation projection for this year to 0.3 percent from zero, pushing German bond yields higher. Investors are cautiously awaiting the outcome of Greek debt talks ahead of a 300 million euro payment due to the International Monetary Fund this week.

In New Zealand today, Auckland real estate agency Barfoot & Thompson is expected to release its monthly housing data while data on first quarter building work put in place will be published slightly before.

The U.S. dollar traded mixed against other currencies Wednesday amid better-than-expected economic data of the country. U.S. international trade deficit in goods and services decreased from 50.6 billion U.S. dollars in March to 40.9 billion dollars in April, well above market expectations, as exports increased and imports decreased, said the Department of Commerce Wednesday.
